Figure 5: The Aurora Borealis, sometimes called the Northern Lights. This is caused by Solar Wind coming from the sun which interacts with Earth's magnetic field. The field draws energetic plasma to the Earth's poles where it interacts with particles high in the Earth's atmosphere.
