When I'm designing logos for clients, I'm always trying to create something that can be stripped down and used without text. I think it's so important to deliver diversity in the final product. I don't believe in a one size fits all design approach. So I typically provide a primary, secondary and partial logo that can fit into many different spaces and dimensions.
