'Love for Tamil' - A series

Hey! Today's letter is 'N' or 'Na' in Tamil.
'Nila' in Tamil is moon and 'Natchathiram' means star.

The ancient Tamil Sangam Literature had a lot of references to the moon, the most famous being, faces being likened to the brightness of the moon.

Here, the poet Paari Magalir (daughter of King Paari) wails her father's loss in the war by saying :

"அற்றைத் திங்கள் அவ் வெண் நிலவில்
எந்தையும் உடையேம் எம்குன்றும் பிறர் கொளார்
இற்றைத் திங்கள் இவ் வெண் நிலவில்
வென்று எரிமுரசின் வேந்தர்எம்
குன்றும் கொண்டார் யாம் எந்தையும் இலமே"
