NO PLANET B - no more PET bottles
I wanted to take part of the Proworks bottles competition to bring a little awareness of how important it is to reduce our plastic footprint. Like using a reusable bottle, for example.
What was once created for our convenience has turned into a plague. BILLIONS of plastic bottles are produced everyday.
And no, I’m not exaggerating. According to a study conducted by The Pacific Institute, more than 1 MILLION plastic bottles are sold EVERY MINUTE around the world.
And yes, they can be recycled. But only 20-25% of them are. What is left ends up being incinerated, dumped into landfills or left as litter.
Plastic bottles and bottle caps are the third and fourth most collected plastic trash in the Ocean Conservancy’s annual beach cleanups. And it takes 450 years for a plastic bottle to completely degrade.
Now you do the math: amount of non recycled bottles x the amount of years it takes them to disappear.
Result: A load of plastic. We are flooding our planet with it. And it will be there long after we are gone.
Imagine how much we would help our planet by carrying our own reusable bottles? A small deed, multiplied by many, can make a huge difference.
