Alexa Hackathon - Event Branding for Amazon
#throwbackthursday đš
Hi everybody! đStory Time: Occasionally, I like to open my dusty drawers and find an old project of mine that never really got the love it deserved (which usually means I never got around to showcasing it anywhere). Itâs always good to look over the road youâve traveled to get where you are now.
This is a branding system for an event called Alexa Hackathon Iâve created while working at Amazon. You can read a lot more about it here, at my Behance case study. đď¸
I have a lot of sympathy for this project because, if I remember correctly, it was the first one at Amazon I took the lead on and developed fully on my own.
Itâs been over 4 years since Iâve designed it. And yes, I see a lot of things I would do differently today. A LOT. When I look at it, I see that 4 years can be a lot of time in terms of developing yourself as a designer. Thatâs why itâs good to look back sometimes, to check if youâre still getting better at what you do. If not, itâs a signal something went wrong.
I dread the moment that Iâll be able to look at my designs from even a couple of months back and still think theyâre good, or that I wouldnât change anything about them. It would mean I stopped growing, and thatâs not something a designer should ever do.
What do you think?
