Kaze Wa Fuke
風は吹けども、山は動ぜず
I found this Japanese proverb once. Since I struggle with anxiety and depression, I was looking for a meaningful quote that I could aspire to. Either as a visual reminder in the form of a tattoo or just something I could repeat to myself. Something that would give me strength at times when I felt weak. It roughly translates to “Though the wind blows, the mountain does not move”.
The illustration is a visualisation of the meaning behind the saying, that once you find inner strength, the turmoil of the world around you will not disturb you. In last friday's live stream I animated this illustration.
I think it came out just right. It carries the meditative, calm mood while telling the story of the proverb.
