The Mystical Wave

I was inspired from 1900s classical books many of which shows symmetrical illustration as their covers.

The idea behind this design is combining the 3 parts which are mermaid in the ocean, flying seagull, and Saint Mark's Basilica surrounded by waves into integrated symmetrical illustration.
Flying seagull on the middle of cover bridging between land and ocean as the depiction of story's narrator. Acqua alta is represented by huge waves around Saint Mark's Basilica.
