African Tribal Mask

From a series of illustrations inspired by iconic masks from human history. Each tribe in Africa has its own unique set of customs and practices of making their masks resulting in many different types. My design is inspired heavily by the Dan people.

I aimed to capture the wooden texture as well as using the same bright colours mainly used in african art whilst capturing the longer faced mask style of the Dan people.
