Co-Solve is a board game for young adolescents that emerged from participatory research in rural settings. The goal of the game is for the players to absorb principles of anger management and conflict de-escalation through play.
It also aims to introduce them to some basic principles of collaborative problem solving and design thinking.
In this game, the player uses Location cards to describe and contextualise a problem that he currently faces. I specifically chose situation and locations that the boys had mentioned in the stories they told us from my participatory research, so that it would appear more realistic and relatable.
I then chose a cartoony, colourful language for the icons so that it would attract and sustain their attention. I got the icons courtesy of Vitaly Gorbachev on flaticon.com.
