Black Swan

This series started with a sketchbook doodle inspired by Thom Yorke's song "Black Swan." A Black Swan is defined as a highly unlikely event with catastrophic effects, that is often regarded as having been predictable in hindsight. It seems a perfect metaphor for this moment in history. I decided to explore the style of that first silhouette piece with several more, inspired by invasive species, misunderstood species, and my own nature observations. All illustrations were created digitally with a combination of Procreate for the iPad Pro and Photoshop.
