I could not be more pleased about Washington moving away from their incredibly racist name and logo — a decision that was long overdue.

Introducing the Washington Redtails. Inspired by the Tuskegee Airman, the logo mimics the iconic red tail wings (top down view) of their fighter planes. The logo also nods to the historic city with the rudder shaped like the Washington Memorial and the overall shape of the tail wings making the letter "W".

Custom type and numerals were created based on the lettering found on the planes.

Finally a history to be proud of.
