What goes into a layout?

It's been so long since my last post - I'm so excited to be working on a project I can share again!

I've recently been exploring, in great detail, grids.

They are the best way for you to structure and create visual constraints within your design, while also exploring what interesting layouts you can come up with.

In this case, I'm keeping it simple clean and crisp for an email template. Nothing too fancy going on, but just the same effort is put into ensuring that the layout is spot on. Still a WIP - I'm just coming up with the general layout before adding any styling or details.

Interested in the mother of all grids? Check out this post on how to create a complex grid, much like Karl Gerstner did for Capital magazine back in in the '60s. Amazingly his grid allowed for 2, 3 , 4 , 5, and 6 column layouts all in one grid.
