Digitally printed silk scarf

A silk scarf I designed on illustrator as part of a textile collection entitled Urban Geometrics. The collection is based upon architectural imagery observing particularly the abstract and linear elements to create contemporary prints. It focuses primarily on minimalistic architecture, looking at historical buildings, including The Eiffel Tower as well as modern architecture such as La
Muralla Roja. From these inspirational architectural forms Urban Geometrics seeks to provide a contemporary and quirky fashion collection, targeted at females ages from 25-60 who take pride in their appearance and strive to dress in a sophisticated and creative way.
The colour palette of Urban Geometrics originally takes inspiration from Claude Monet’s water lily paintings, and this natural influence provides the collection with a contrast to the manmade elements mentioned above. The palette is also inspired by colourful and striking mediterranean architecture such as La Muralla Roja. This enables the palette to possess a fresh and slightly exotic mood, lifting the burgundy, khaki and navy which bring sophistication. The palette is successful as it emits a sense of quirkiness whilst still retaining a sense of maturity
