St. Louis at Night

Continuation on an illustrative style I've been exploring: simple shapes on top of watercolors. Colors here were sampled from a photo of the St. Louis skyline at night.

The Gateway Arch is the same distance wide as it is tall: 630 feet. This is tall known in geometry as a Catenary Curve. I reflected this in the illustration by making the arch both 6.3 inches tall and wide.

The 5 individual columns represent each decade the Arch has been around (50 years in 2013).
