Tohoku no Kokoro

I used to live in Northern Japan (Tohoku). I was there to teach English as a missionary. I lived in a small town on the coast with a home stay family for a year and then I lived in a church an hour south for a second year. Fukushima prefecture is like my Japanese "home town;" everyone I know and love in Japan is in that area.

I've been able to get in touch with my home stay family, and I'm happy to say they're safe. I've heard that the church I served at is actively working to help their surrounding area. Knowing these two things has been such a comfort to me today as I continue to pray for Tohoku. My heart goes out to the inaka (the rural, country) areas especially.

Note: I'm dumb and didn't check my kanji before I finished. I haven't lived in Japan in over 6 years, so ... uh ... it's a little rusty. Fixed now.
