After a deli employee called 911, accusing George Floyd of using a counterfeit $20 bill. Officer Derek Chauvin kept his knee on Floyd’s neck for eight minutes and 46 seconds total. On May 25, 2020 George Floyd died in custody. His death triggered demonstrations and protests all over the world against police brutality, police racism, and lack of police accountability. The possibility of a store losing $20 guaranteed the death of a little girl's father. This is Gianna Floyd.
