Jallianwala Bagh Massacre

General Dyre's command to "FIRE", backfired. 11 minutes and 1,650 bullets changed the course of India's freedom struggle. The massacre marked the beginning of the end of British Empire. It was after this massacre that Rabindranath Tagore returned his knighthood. And a year later, Mahatma Gandhi gave the clarion call for the non-cooperation movement. Now, when we look back at the last 101 years, Jallianwala Bagh stands out as a symbol of defiance by a people, who refused to be second class citizen in their own country.
