CRT + VHS = Double Obsolescence

What's better than one obsolete technology? Two obsolete technologies in one device!
I remember first seeing one of these things in the late '90s and thought "Wow! What en elegant solution!"

Don't mourn for old tech. Its novelty and genius will remain alive where they belong - in museums (and wikipedia). In a few years hard drives with moving parts will be gone, and (hopefully) most of our computing devices will have no moving parts at all (who likes cleaning fans?).
