Logo

The Otahpiaaki logo which I was lucky enough to re-vamp in 2016; An iteration of the beautiful logo previously created by Mattea Henderson. This was one among several brand assets I created in my time in the Otahpiaaki team between 2016 and 2018.

I had a specific role in the technical execution of this logo, while it is also important to note that this logo was conceptualized & envisioned by a team of Indigenous and non-Indigenous researchers at Mount Royal University, and with the consideration of Elder Jeannie Smith Davis. Working in this wonderful team taught me about the beauty of discussion & collaboration when working alongside Indigenous colleagues and partners.

Otahpiaaki is a Blackfoot word, describing the moment when the sole and vamp of the moccasin are bound together. The brand celebrates and supports Indigenous artists and fashion designers across the nation. Part of my work also included building websites for Otahpiaaki and the fashion designers partnered in one of hosting some of Canada's largest Indigenous fashion shows.
