Ruth Bader Ginsburg
"Real change, enduring change, happens one step at a time."
- Ruth Bader Ginsburg
An American lawyer and one of only four women ever appointed to the U.S. Supreme Court. Despite her excellent credentials, she struggled to find employment as a lawyer early in her career because of her gender and the fact that she was a wife and a mother. Ginsberg is generally viewed as belonging to the liberal wing, having spent her life and career advocating for gender equality, women’s rights, environmental protection, civil rights, and unlawful search and seizure. Her majority and descent decisions are regarded as done so in the spirit of the preservation of judicial integrity.
