My name is Ana Javier. I have been a freelance illustrator / graphic designer for several years now. I draw since I have reason. This publication is made to tell you that I am working on a project that arises in times of crisis. My mom always tells me that "in bad weather good face". “Illustrated portraits of confinement” was born with the intention of bringing loved ones who are far from you closer and bringing a little joy in this world panorama that we are going through. As a migrant myself, living this pandemic away from my family has not been easy, but thanks to the networks I can be with them. My mom had her birthday at the beginning of June and I wanted to make her smile with an illustration I made for her. For many people this pandemic and the same political landscape in many countries has awakened feelings of uncertainty about our future and what better way than to use art as a tool and share it with people so that they can enjoy even for a moment seeing themselves reflected in it. As an artist, I feel that this is my way of fighting the pandemic. To fight against uncertainty and at the same time it is my therapy against anxiety.
