Bulgarian 1 lev banknote

This is my project for 1 lev banknote which was In circulation from 5 July 1999 to 31 December 2015.

Obverse - An image of a 1789 icon depicting of Saint Ivan Rilski from the Uspenie Bogorodichno (Assumption of Our Lady) Church in the Pchelino Postnica (Hermitage) near the Rila Monastery.

Reverse - An image of the main Rila Monastery church set off by the cloister's open-air walkways.

The initial idea of the project was for 5000 leva banknote. Afterwards it changed to 1 lev. On the obverse first idea was to have a view with the Tower of Hrelyu visible in the interior of Rila monastery. The project had drawn by hand and after that created with Fortuna and Creator.
