'The Waves' by Virginia Woolf – Cover Concept
The Waves is not one of Virginia Woolf's most well-known titles but it's one of her most critically acclaimed. Described as a mix of prose and poetry, The Waves is considered a challenging but beautiful read, so my goal was to portray that spirit in an iconic way.
I decided to focus on this found object that encapsulates the idea of water and movement honed into one, eye-catching shape. I felt the best way to play off of this shape is was utilizing negative space and some distinctive typeface (The Broads from YWFT, in this case).
