SafeLand
Security threats are everywhere. Falling for scams or ending up on dangerous websites has never been easier. Kids are no exception, so how can we strengthen the users' resilience against these threats?
Kids are particularly challenging as a target group and require exceptional usability and engagement. Besides, tablet devices have become a crucial tool for children's academic development, and their usage is growing inside classrooms. With this in mind, we brainstormed & tried out different ideas, sorting the key functionalities and quickly testing the designs in low-fidelity.
SafeLand is a platform to raise awareness and help kids learn about the dangers of the web. It is designed to be used during class with the assistance of a teacher. However, parents can use it with their children at home too. The platform consists of a series of lectures organized by categories. Inside each lesson, kids are introduced with a topic using an easy to understand language. At the end of every lecture, kids can play short mini-games to help retain what has been taught.
