Valley Curtain, Rifle, Colorado, 1972. Christo and Jean Claude.

Few artists have inspired me as much as Christo and Jean Claude. In the intersection between art, landscape and architecture, they produced some of the most stunning images of the contemporary world. I discovered their work for the first time in architecture school back in 2008, and at the time this image got stuck in my mind and redirected my interest on buildings towards temporary architecture and public space. Since then, I dreamt about the possibility of experiencing their work with my own senses, rather than just through a picture, and I got so close in 2016, but I didn’t. Christo's death filled me with sadness, but somehow it also gave me hope. For me, going through their work has been a ray of light despise the current events, and it made me reflect on the power of landscape, collaborative art and love.
