'Ulysses' by James Joyce – Cover Concept

A new week, a new cover design. This time I chose to create a contemporary version of Joyce's classic, 'Ulysses.'

In the book water is a continued metaphor that's used without, and in particular, there is a line which goes, "The sea, the snotgreen sea, the scrotumtightening sea." It's an odd line that stuck out to me and was my point of inspiration. I think my result is a little more appealing than the original.
