ffi - Writing & Author's Website

This is a concept design I've been working on over the past few days ~4-5 hours of work total. It's just a concept, but I wanted to stretch myself and get comfortable with some non-traditional elements I don't usually use: yellow, vertical nav, interesting blog view, and the like.

I really like the end result -- the splashes of color mixed with the grey give it an appropriately literary feel, which is important for an author. A lot of my work is with self-published authors so I wanted to work in that genre, but stretch my design muscles.
