Eating An Apple

I'm working on an illustration to a haiku I wrote and hope to post on Medium.com with the text.

I need to add seagulls - with one flying very close to the viewer - and, while I want to keep it relatively simple, I feel like I need to do more with the hill. Any thoughts?
