Recycle Symbol

Just recently discovered the campaign by Two Degrees Creative on Instagram asking designers to recreate the Recycle Symbol.

Might be late but thought I would give it a try anyway. There were so many creative and strong submissions on Instagram but I decided to design a simpler and more geometric version that makes the negative space pine tree in the current symbol clearer and more prominent.

I used flat arrowheads to make the trunk of the tree stand out and discernible in the negative space. But overall, I wanted to take a more symmetrical approach using a grid and triangular shapes while maintaining the features of what makes the current symbol so iconic.
