BLM
I was listening to @nprcodeswitch’s latest episode titled “A Decade of Watching Black People Die” (highly recommend listening) and a lot of questions came up that I want to ask people that have different perspectives on what is going on in America right now.
What inside of you comes up when you hear “Black Lives Matter” that makes you feel the need to say “All Lives Matter”?
What inside of you comes up that needs to say “Yeah what happened to George Floyd was terrible, but that looting and rioting is just as bad.”
Why do you need to watch a video of a black person getting killed in order for you to sympathize?
Why does someone need to become a hashtag for the cops to be held accountable?
If you’re not seeing that this is wrong, what more do you need?
I don’t want another black person to die in order for things to change. Black people have had enough. Why haven’t white people had enough?
