BLM

I was listening to @nprcodeswitch’s latest episode titled “A Decade of Watching Black People Die” (highly recommend listening) and a lot of questions came up that I want to ask people that have different perspectives on what is going on in America right now. ⁣

What inside of you comes up when you hear “Black Lives Matter” that makes you feel the need to say “All Lives Matter”?⁣

What inside of you comes up that needs to say “Yeah what happened to George Floyd was terrible, but that looting and rioting is just as bad.”⁣

Why do you need to watch a video of a black person getting killed in order for you to sympathize?⁣

Why does someone need to become a hashtag for the cops to be held accountable?⁣

If you’re not seeing that this is wrong, what more do you need?⁣

I don’t want another black person to die in order for things to change. Black people have had enough. Why haven’t white people had enough? ⁣
