Hello, I am a graphic designer and an illustration artist based in Bangladesh. My this work series is inspired by masks created for Pohela Baisakh ( Bengali New Year's Day) .

This work concept is from 'mangal shobhajatra : A symbol of new beginings'. Mangal Shobhajatra is a festival open to the public to celebrate Pahela Baisakh (Bengali New Year's Day). The tradition of Mangal Shobhajatra began in 1989 when students frustrated with having to live under military rule, wanted to bring people in the community hope for a better future. Masks were created, said to drive away evil forces and allow for progress. This masks symbolizes the pride the people of Bangladesh have in there folk heritage, as well as their strength and courage to fight against sinister forces and their vindication of truth and justice.
