"The Walls Will Fall One Day...." Cover Illustration

The author grew up right by the Great Wall of China. This, combined with the title of her story, made the inclusion of the Wall a no-brainer. However, much of the effort remains on incorporating aspects of Urbana-Champaign IL, two adjacent college towns in the Midwestern United States. Urbana-Champaign does not have architectural landmarks the scale of the Great Wall, nor does it have a dynamic skyline. "Main street" shots were few and far between.

Eventually, I turned to Wikipedia for help and found a photo of Carle Park in Urbana, IL. Using basic Photoshop skills, I extracted the view of the blue skies out of the window of the Great Wall and replaced it with a look at a statue in the park. Voila!
