Empathy is the capacity to understand or feel what another person is experiencing from within their frame of reference
This past week I've realised I need to educate myself more about black culture to really understand the extent to the pain and suffering they are going through and have been through over centuries of oppression
I need to have more open, honest and uncomfortable conversations with my black brother-in-law. I feel like I've failed him in not doing this already. I'm also conscious that my 10-year-old nephew is probably scared seeing these unjust deaths, thinking that could have easily been his dad. I'm starting this journey to better educate myself, so I can help be part of the solution rather than my ignorance being part of the problem
Please feel free to point me in the direction of any resources that would feel would help
