Happy Designer Theory
A designer's "style" has always been a topic of interest to me.
On one had, having a consistent style is a good indication to potential clients on what to expect, or that that particular style is the reason the client decided to hire the designer in the first place. But on the other hand, a good designer should design according to the client's or the brand's requirements.
As a freelance designer and mostly one man show, I design according to my capabilities (ie. I am better with hand-drawn images than 3D renders). So my particular style would skewed towards that.
Conclusions? Instead of focusing on things I don't know (because nobody is a know-it-all!), I should just stick to what I know and do it well. Additionally, the key to a happy design career lies in choosing the right kind of clients, and learning how to manage expectations. After all, a cow can't offer goat's milk yes?
