Basketball sport team logo - Brooklyn Turbines

The basketball team logo was designed for a social team located in Brooklyn, Wellington, New Zealand. Wellington is known to be one of the windiest cities in the world if not the windiest. Perhaps it doesn't have the strongest gusts battering it all the time, but it makes up for consistency throughout the year.

It is no wonder then that a wind turbine was installed in the suburb of Brooklyn to generate electricity.

Since the wind turbine is such an iconic landmark, it made sense to incorporate it into the logo and make it the principal feature. Having the basketball in the background has a two-fold purpose. The first, and most obvious one, is that you can recognise this as being a basketball team. The second is that the lines of the ball resemble the currents of the wind.
