Infante Dom Henrique aka Henry the Navigator, was born in 1394 in Porto and he was an important figure in the early days of the Portuguese Empire and the Age of Discoveries in total.

Luís Vaz de Camões is considered Portugal's and the Portuguese language's greatest poet. His mastery of verse has been compared to that of Shakespeare, Vondel, Homer, Virgil and Dante.
