NOTHERN NOODLES

When brainstorming ideas for this logo I was quickly struck by the unique shape created by the freshly made folded noodles. The looping infinity shape was unique, so I decided to focus my exploration in that direction. In Chinese folklore noodles are considered a symbol of longevity, it is allegedly considered bad luck to break them, all the more appropriate to depict them joining in an overlapping loop. The number 8 is also considered to be the luckiest in Chinese culture, which folded an extra layer of meaning into the concept.

I'm particularly fond of the version where the icon forms the double o in the word noodle, that was a really neat little opportunity that I noticed when playing around with the mark.
