A while ago, I had the pleasure of working on a "Frictionless Publishing System" that allows users to post to Twitter, Facebook, Linkedin, and their blog from one place.

Back then, we were doubling down on using real-life metaphors to accomplish tasks that may be unfamiliar to less sophisticated users (skeuomorphism).

This is a close-up of the buttons in the envelope, which is the metaphor we chose for the publishing system.
