Mobile app for people with IBD

I have a love-hate relationship with food. On the one hand, I love to cook, try new things, and eat out. On the other hand, as a person who suffers from IBD (inflammatory bowel disease), I need to carefully consider everything I eat and track how each dish or even ingredient makes me feel. IBD is chronic, it may flare up often or you can be in remission for a long time. Besides getting the right medical treatment, choosing what to eat is crucial to maintain a long remission period.

I recognized the following problem/opportunity:
It's hard for people with IBD to find places to eat, new recipes, and document how certain foods affect them.

In this app I focused on 3 main user stories:
As a user, I want to:
1. Know what I should eat while in remission and flare up, and document how each dish makes me feel so I’ll know which foods to avoid.
2. Get ideas for recipes and be able to save favorite ones.
3. See nearby restaurants and their menus, with other users who have my condition, ratings, and recommendations.

When I looked at similar apps that tackle these issues I did see solutions to some of them, but not to all. So I decided to create something of my own :)
