S: Silicon Valley of India
Bengaluru emerged as an IT hub in the 1980s and became the major hub for IT companies and soon was known as the Silicon Valley of India.
The push for transforming Bengaluru into an IT hub was made under the leadership of the visionary RK Baliga who came up with the concept of Electronic City.
The city accounts for about 30–40% of the IT exports from India which is the largest for any city in the country.
Bengaluru had already emerged as the leader as far as IT is concerned in the 1980s itself and it has maintained its position even today, after more than 30 years.
Just Bengaluru Things.
