It is a cliche. The city of Rotterdam is constantly changing. This change brings more and more tourists to a city which was once a raw multicultural melting pot. Now it becomes a hip place where entrepreneurs shape the street scene with their little hotels and sophisticated studios.

There is no stopping it because the municipality enforces these 'developments'

Like the spot in de Witte de With straat where I made this painting. It is becoming a hotel that offers a temporary home to a new breed of travelers.

Yes it is good for the economy. But its bad for the soul of the city which in my opinion weighs more.
