Airline App UX Design

Our new in-flight feature enables the users, such as our persona 'Chris', to see a timetable of take-off, meal times and landing. The schedule permits Chris to plan his journey, such as choosing when he would like to watch a film. This design will overcome the ambiguity of knowing meal times which was one of the prevalent pain points among interviewees. Also, the user can order items to their seat through the app, such as drinks or blankets. We introduced this feature based on our user research findings when we uncovered that people don’t like summoning staff over to their seat. This feature reduces the embarrassment of hailing airline staff over, as well as improving efficiency. The interviewees said they get frustrated when they ordered something that got forgotten. This app feature would send the flight attendants a list of items, so they would be able to see what the user wanted before going to their seat. As the flight attendant only has to go to their seat once, this saves time and reduces the likelihood of staff forgetting an order.
