After the sudden death of a father, the oldest of three children, neurotic Nicholas, has to take responsibility over his teenage step-sisters: outsider Genevieve and ‘knowitall’ Matilda. He has to relocate into the USA from Australia to start a new life full of everyday problems, like exploring sexuality when you are a autistic girl, finding a perfect boyfriend for Nicholas or dealing with a first menstruation. Stories are tragicomic, full of life and laughter and unusual experiences, interlaced with beautiful visuals of moths, bugs, spiders and other interesting insects Nicholas owns.
