Still getting the hang of flat ui. Feedback appreciated as always?

And a question: how do you guys make those animated prototypes? Must I dive into after effects or can I get away with GIFs through fireworks?

I've attached my very flawed first attempt at an interaction animation. Not sure how to transfer that gif to an iphone template psd, or whether that's really the way to do it. Any suggestions?
