Phase 2 also meant going back to the drawing board in a lot of aspects. Having the possibility of focusing on one approach instead of working and testing on multiple high level concepts allowed us to start getting much closer to actual real use cases, to prioritise them better and select the top priority/quick win ones.
The companion app of this ecosystem of devices also had to adapt big time :)
This meant rethinking some features and consequently having to go back to the architecture and redesign it almost completely.
The interesting aspect of revisiting the architecture in a deep way again though is that you now bring a bigger knowledge of how the features and the technology works as well as the user's mental models/pain points and whatnot.
And of course architecture is always great to work on since it is a layer that brings together many disciplines of the project.
