Podbook - Visual Identity

I designed the branding for this podcast-focused social network startup in Toronto.

To create the logo, I was inspired by the dialogue bubble from comic books. It's the universal symbol for speaking, which is kind of what podcasts are all about. I then went a bit literal with the name and added the piece to the right that created the form of a book in the negative space.

We all agreed that the design called for blue, but we didn't want to venture into Facebook territory. This one is somewhere between turquoise and aqua.

I've just noticed this now, the font is Comfotaa, the same one that I would later use for the rebranding of Seoul International Film Festival. Totally unintentional.
