Like a Lady
Part of an ongoing personal project. Currently untitled, this project began as a way to understand why it is that I draw what I draw. Why is most of my subject matter centered around womxn, and why are they so large on the canvas?
The more I worked on these pieces, the more I realized that there is a reason behind my style. Behind every image is a need for these womxn to take up space, to be confident, strong, present and badass.
So much of history has been tailored by and for the male gaze, and through this series I hope to explore these womxn through my point of view as a queer female artist.
