Dunwoody Christian School: athletic logo design

Because of their Christian background, the concept of a lion was very important to DCS. It had an immediate and clear association with Jesus who is compared in Biblical texts to a lion - gentle and loving but also fierce and powerful. To capture the intention behind their choice of a lion, we had to design a figure that walks the fine line of a strength that doesn’t lack compassion. An Aslan-esque personality.

Along with the mascot itself, we needed to create a strong monogram to accompany it, carrying the D from Dunwoody into this secondary mark so the mark wouldn’t lose its association with the school’s overarching name and brand.
