How to make complexity accessible?ā
This talk is a reflection on the process of re-designing an app that is meant to bring the power of automation to the hands of merchants.ā
Sharing my team's approach on tackling this big problem as well as lessons learned so far, specially things I would have done differently if I started tackling the problem today.ā

Failure: A Product Development Story.ā
A great many speakers across hundreds if not thousands of talks tend to focus on the lessons learned, whilst leaving out the mistakes made. Many of our biggest learnings however, stem from failing in the first place.ā
And that's what this talk is all about: failure.ā
This is a narrative on failure. My personal failure, my team's failure, and a failure to build a product that answered our customer's needs. It's a story on how tunnel-vision in user research led us to focus exclusively on the most tech-savvy users among our customers. How this single-minded determination destroyed the ease of use of our product, and how retention rates plummeted whilst on-boarding times soared.ā
With plenty of examples on what to do, and what not to do, we'll eventually arrive at the lesson learned, but not before digging into our mistakes first.ā
