Wife, Mother, Warrior

Cut Nyak Dhien was a warrior who fought against Dutch rule in colonial Indonesia in the late 1800's. Both her husband and her are national heroes. She led soldiers single-handedly against enemies, and sunk enemy boats like a real badass. I drew her wearing a traditional Acehnese-pattern woven fabric called Tenun and is usually worn like a skirt by both men and women called a sarong. She is wielding a traditional Indonesian machete usually wielded by men but I thought she definitely deserved her own.
